Greenfinches are one of the larger finches found in gardens and are stocky birds with stout bodies and heads. Males have a yellow-green breast, grey-green upperparts, greyish sides to their heads and a light grey wing panel. Females are dull grey-green all over, tinged with brown. Both have yellow edges to primaries forming a yellow panel on the folded wing though this is duller in the female. Juveniles are similar colours to the female, but streaked all over.

With a preference for feeding from tables and hanging feeders, Greenfinches are attracted to seeds and sunflower hearts. For more information on sunflower hearts and seed mixes products.
